Two Tampa Prep Robotics teams recently competed at the VEX Robotics Tournament, November 4 at Pasco Hernando State College, along with 25 other teams and did extremely well. Team Gold is the first Tampa Prep team to have an undefeated streak in a tournament, winning all matches in qualification and elimination rounds and winning in the finals! Additionally, Team Gold won both the Excellence Award and the Tournament Championship Award and Team Red won the Amaze Award. Both teams had strong qualification rounds with Team Gold undefeated at 7-0-0 and ranked #1 and Team Red at 6-1-0 and ranked #4.

Team Gold is now ranked 5th and Team Red is ranked 8th in the Florida Skills Rankings. Typically the top 30 teams get into the State Championships.

Team Red is represented by Captain Daphne T. and members Casey K., Calvin V., Nathan V., Jai P., and Lauren B.
Team Gold is represented by Captain Elise B. and members Cedric T., Adin S., Leela P., Kat G., and Davis S.
Congratulations to both teams for their well-deserved rankings and awards!
Next up: Both teams will compete next week at Apopka High School, with 41 teams attending.  This is a preview for States with many very competitive and high-ranking teams coming.   All other Tampa Prep teams will be competing at the January 13 VEX tournament at Steinbrenner High School.
Special thanks to all parents for supporting us with food and attending. It was no contest who had the most number of supportive parents coming to a tournament.  Go Red! Go Gold!
