Process

Applications for the 2025-26 school year will be open September 1, 2024 – February 1, 2025. Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by February 1, 2025 to be considered for admission for the 2025-26 school year.

How to Apply to Tampa Prep

1. Submit an Inquiry Form and Schedule a Tour

Please submit an online inquiry via the button below.  You will receive an email with instructions to schedule a private campus tour for your family. We require the applicant to accompany parents/families to campus.

If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, please check your spam/promotions/social folders in your email. If you still do not see it, please call the admissions office at (813) 251-8481.

2. Application and Supporting Documents

Submit an online application along with the $75 application fee. Complete and submit the Parental Waiver Form. Submit the Teacher Recommendation Form and the School Record Form to the applicant’s current school. The application and all supporting documents must be completed by February 1.

3. Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT)

Register for the SSAT at ssat.org. Be sure to select Tampa Preparatory School (code  7612) as the school that receives your reported scores.

 SSAT test dates offered at Tampa Prep are listed below:

  • October 12, 2024
  • November 9, 2024
  • December 7, 2024
  • January 4, 2025
  • February 1, 2025

Applicants for 10th, 11th or 12th grades must submit PSAT or SAT scores instead of taking the SSAT.  International students must take the TOEFL or TOEFL Jr.  Register online at www.ets.org/toefl.

4. Tampa Prep Interview

Once you submit your application you will receive an email with instructions to schedule a student interview via Zoom. Alternatively, students may submit a short video including a personal introduction of themselves and detailing their interests. If students choose to submit a video, please feel free to let creativity shine! Submit videos to admissions@tampaprep.org.

5. Keep in touch with us

Families are encouraged to review checklist items in their MyTampaPrep account. We encourage you to reach out to our Parent and Student Ambassadors to ask questions, make connections and learn what makes our community unique. Admissions files that are complete by February 1st will be reviewed and notification letters will be sent March 1st.
