If you’re looking for the best summer camps in Tampa Bay, you’ve come to the right place! Tampa Prep offers something for everyone this summer on our downtown campus located on Tampa’s famed Riverwalk.

Available Summer Programs

Camp Terrapin is a co-ed sports & fine arts summer camp for kids entering grades 1 – 8. Your child will have an opportunity to experience an incredible variety of activities in fun, safe spaces including the Walter Athletic Complex, Smith Black Box Theater, art room, Colwill Aquatic Complex, Shimberg Field and Virtual Reality IDEA Lab!

Also, students in grades 6 – 12 can take advantage of  Academic classes (3-week half-credit and 6-week full-credit). This is an incredible opportunity to get full- and half-credit, taking courses over the summer for students who want to create more space in their schedules in the fall.  Want to get PE/Health, Geometry, Spanish, Civics, or Pre-Calculus credit in a condensed 3 or 6-week course? This is the perfect way to do just that. Class sizes are very limited so sign up now!

Camp Terrapin

Grades 1-8 / June 16 – July 18

Camp Terrapin is a coeducational, sports and fine arts summer camp in Tampa for students entering grades 1-8. From the Walter Athletic Complex to the Smith Black Box Theater, the art room to the Colwill Aquatic Complex, and the Shimberg field to the virtual reality IDEA lab, your child will have an opportunity to experience a variety of activities while they embrace Tampa Prep’s mission to think, create, be yourself, aspire to excellence and go beyond in a positive, fun and safe environment.

Academic Classes

Grades 9-12 / June 16 – July 25

Want to get a jump on the school year and create more space in your fall schedule? Tampa Prep also offers a number of summer classes in the arts, humanities, STEM and more! Enrichment courses range from preparing for middle and upper school to Chess. Academic Courses are all taught at the honors level for rising 9th – 12th grade students in a variety of subjects including Geometry, Phys Ed & Health, Spanish, Pre-Calculus and more, for full- or half-credit!

Tampa Prep offers exciting, week-long enrichment camps for students! Our Enrichment & STEM camps are built for ages 9 and up and give students the opportunity to take “Gearing up for 6th Grade,” “Preparing for Algebra 1,” “Intro to Robotics” and more, so that they are able to start their school year fully prepared for any academic challenges.

FAQ

Are Tampa Prep Summer Programs open to the public?

Yes! You do not need to be a student at Tampa Prep during the academic year to come to Tampa Prep Summer Programs. Summer Programs are open to students from rising 1st-12th Grade. Academic, Enrichment and Camp opportunities vary depending on the program.

What are the dates for Tampa Prep Summer Programs?

Camp Terrapin begins June 16-July 18. Academic and Enrichment dates vary but will run from June 16-July 25. ALL Summer Programs will be closed on June 19 and July 4.

Is lunch or snack provided at Camp Terrapin?

No, lunch and snack are not provided at camp. However each camper has the opportunity to purchase hot lunch through EVOS. The links to purchase lunch can be found in your registration packet. Campers can bring money daily to purchase snacks from the snack bar.

What are camp hours?

Camp Terrapin runs from 9:00 – 3:30 pm daily. AM Care (8:00-9:00 AM) and PM Care (3:30-5:00 PM) available each day for a fee. Academic classes run from 8:30-12:30 daily each semester lasts three weeks. Semester 1 (June 16-July 3) Semester 2 (July 7-July 25) Enrichment classes run from 8:30-10:30 AM and 10:30-12:30 PM June 16-July 3.

Is before or after care available?

AM Care (8:00-9:00 AM) and PM Care (3:30-5:00 PM) available each day for a fee. You will be automatically charged $1 per minute after 5:00 PM

Where do you go on the first day of camp?

Please pull into the parking lot off of Cass St. You will follow the car line until you see Counselors/Junior Counselors opening doors and greeting Campers.

Is there a refund policy?

Parents who wish to withdraw a student from a course or camp after registration will be charged. All withdrawals will be assesed a 25% withdrawal fee. NO refunds will be given for a camp after May 23, 2025. NO refunds will be given for academic classes after June 6, 2025. Requests for tuition reimbursements should be directed to the Director of Summer Programs, Mychael Sumby at msumby@tampaprep.org or by calling 813-251-8481 ext. 4007.

Is there a lost & found?

Yes, anything left at camp will be placed on a lost & found table in the gym lobby. All items left after camps is completed will be donated on July 25,2025.

What time am I able to drop off and pick up my camper?

Carline runs from 8:45-9:00 AM and 3:30-3:45 PM.
