A group of students from Tampa Prep’s Upper School Library Leadership Team and Creative Writing Club got to attend YA by the Bay (Young Adult Reading & Leadership Festival), Friday October 13 at the Tampa Convention Center!
YA by the Bay is an amazing student conference focused on young adult literature and writing. Students got to attend author panels and author-led workshops including “The Joy of Horror” (featuring R.L. Stine), “Build your character: Learning Empathy from Fiction”, “Main Character Energy: Your Story, Your Opportunity” and so many more.
Students embraced the opportunity, taking notes and asking amazing, insightful questions. They also got the chance to take pictures with the authors and get books signed.
We may have a number of future Terrapin authors in this group!
