Tampa Prep Robotics Teams Continue Dominance!

Tampa Prep’s robotics teams, led by Mr. Quah, continue their impressive dominance! All Prep teams have Florida Skills rankings high enough to qualify to compete at VEX States, after competing with 49 teams, January 13 at Steinbrenner High School.

Team 727 Red went undefeated, winning all their matches in the qualification and elimination rounds as well as in the finals. They also won the Excellence Award, the Tournament Championship Award and the Robot Skills Award. Team 727 Red is now ranked 2nd in the Florida Skills rankings and 50th in the World VEX Skills rankings (out of 20,000 teams!).

Team 727 Red skills score was an astounding & dominating total of 342 points, with their nearest opponent at 276 points and is also the second-ever Tampa Prep team to go undefeated in a tournament.

Team Red is represented by Captain Daphne Thinakaran and members Casey Kittredge, Calvin Vo, Nathan Valladares, Jai Padhya, and Lauren Brill.
Team Bale is represented by Captain Sonia Prakash and members Nathaniel Tabor, Morgan Valladares, Charlotte Barber, Lilah Schar, and Zane Davison.
Team Crimson is captained by Stone Font with members Toren Cragun, Stefan Simonetti, Finn Murray, Andrew Chang, AJ Walter, and Sharif Chaudry.
Team Dark Red (Team D) is captained by Jack Ryan with members Elissa DiPierro, Alex Bradford, Luca Thatch, and Simon Segundo.
Next up: USF Bulls Run on January 21st at USF and another tournament at Pasco Hernando State College (PHSC) on January 27.  VEX States is February 17 at USF for High School and March 2 at Clermont for Middle School.
