Tampa Prep is proud to announce the Paige Family Award, a one-time $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to up to five graduating seniors who plan to continue their volleyball careers in college.
We recently spoke with Chris Paige about the inspiration behind this award and what it means to his family – his wife Angela and daughter Ashton ‘30.
Can you explain what this gift is?
“The Paige Family Award is a scholarship created to recognize Tampa Prep student-athletes for their commitment, character, and perseverance. It is meant to help ease the transition to college—whether that means books, a laptop, or even making a dorm room feel like home.”
What was the inspiration behind this gift?
“Coming from humble beginnings, I promised myself I’d support my kids in every endeavor. My wife and I wanted to extend that same support to other students. I’ve always wanted to leave a legacy, not just for my children but for every young person chasing a dream. Over the years, we’ve built lasting team traditions through Ashton’s volleyball journey, and this award continues that legacy.”
Why is this important to your family?
“Volleyball made us a volleyball family, but more than that, it showed us what hard work, dedication, and community can build. That’s why my wife and I created the Paige Family Award — a scholarship that says: We see you, we believe in you and you have a village behind you.
Tampa Prep encourages students to dream big and think creatively. We want to contribute by supporting those who give their all to represent the school.”
What do you hope this gift provides?
“We hope it encourages students and relieves some of the costs of their next chapter. More importantly, we want it to remind them that their efforts matter and that their community stands behind them as they step into adulthood.
We’re proud to partner with Tampa Prep to impact the next chapter for our student-athletes who give their all.”
