I attended the State University of New York at Cortland, where I was a member of the tennis team. During my time as a collegiate athlete, I was honored to receive the title of All-American. This accomplishment is one of my proudest moments as an athlete. I had earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology, but always knew that I wanted to pursue my Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling. I attend the College of New Rochelle and graduated with my masters in 2006. My career in education began, when I received a post-master’s internship at Florida State University.
I worked in the Florida State University Athletic Academic office. As an athlete, I was so excited to work with a variety of sports. I thought my internship would be only nine months and I would return to New York to pursue my career, however it lead me to a new life in Florida. After working as an intern, I was hired as an Academic Advisor for the College of Education and College of Human Sciences at FSU. After two years, I was provided with an opportunity to move to Tampa. I spent a year at Plant City High School teaching Psychology, before receiving a Guidance Counselor position at Riverview High School.
