Continuing the long-held tradition of robotics excellence at Tampa Prep, we’re proud to celebrate Team 727 Gold, who has won the Innovate Award at both the Florida Signature event in Orlando (competing against 60 teams) and the Create Award at the Kalahari Classic Signature event in Sandusky, Ohio (competing against 172 teams). These prestigious Signature Events draw elite teams from across the country, making these achievements a testament to the team’s engineering skill, strategic thinking, and relentless dedication.
Team 727 Gold, including Cedric Thinakaran ’26, Adin Shah ’26, Jai Padhya ’26 and Stone Font ’27, is a group that blends experience, leadership, and fresh perspective. Together, they exemplify collaboration and innovation both on and off the field.
Adding to their impressive record, this team also had an all-time high achievement by getting to the quarterfinals of their VEX division in the 2024-25 Season, further cementing their place among the top competitive robotics teams.
Team 727 Gold has also qualified for VEX Robotics States and Worlds every year since the 2021-22 season, beginning their remarkable journey as middle schoolers when they won the Innovate Award and have won several awards since. What started as early promise has grown into a legacy of excellence, creativity, and competitive success.
“With a proven history of success at the state, national, and world levels, Team 727 Gold continues to set the standard for excellence in VEX Robotics—representing Tampa Prep with ingenuity, determination, and pride,” said Robotics Teacher KK Quah. “I will personally miss the seniors who have been with me for over five years. They are not only outstanding competitors but just plain nice students. I would like to wish them the best in achieving their individual dreams of a future in engineering.”
