Faculty and Staff
I first knew that I wanted to be a teacher while spending time in college studying challenging topics and making presentations on them. At the time, I thought a career in higher education would be rewarding, but during my two years in graduate school in British Columbia, Canada, I found far more fulfilling work as a Teaching Assistant as opposed to researching and writing.
I returned to Tampa Prep, my high school alma mater, with a goal to gain some classroom experience for two or three years before moving back to the Pacific Northwest. That was over 20 years ago! I love working at this school because it is a mission-driven, inclusive community that values academic curiosity and individuality. This is a special place to learn and labor. When not absorbed either by my work or by the allure of a cherished dog’s life, I am a fervent gardener and an avid traveler who will never grow tired of what the world has to teach me.
