Born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Tampa since the age of two, Dr. Mili Patel is the daughter of first-generation Indian immigrants who came to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and a better life.

Dr. Patel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University before achieving her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2002. Just two years later, she opened her first dental practice in Dade City, Florida. Guided by her entrepreneurial drive, she has since grown Smile Design Dentistry into more than 60 locations over the last 20 years—making her the largest female founding DSO leader in the United States.

A dedicated mentor and lifelong learner, Dr. Patel serves as a part-time faculty member at LECOM School of Dental Medicine, where she helps shape the next generation of dentists. She is deeply committed to providing patients with the highest quality care, continuously seeking out the latest innovations and technologies in dentistry.

Beyond her professional life, Dr. Patel has been married since 2002 and is the proud mother of three children: Aleena (12th grade), Niam (9th grade), and Kayden (4th grade). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, relaxing with her family, and spending time with their new Cavapoo puppy, Rio.

Dr. Patel is excited to bring her leadership, vision, and community spirit to the Tampa Prep Terrapin family as a member of the Board of Trustees.
