“Terrapins Together” Coastal Cleanup for Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful

On behalf of the Tampa Prep Parents Association, we would like to invite all Tampa Prep families to a family community service cleanup event and environmental tour-along on the Hillsborough River as part of the Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful Trash Free Waters Program.

Mission: To promote a culture of environmental stewardship and protect our environment. 

Location: Meeting at the Julian B. Lane Park (next to Tampa Prep) boat dock. 

When: Saturday, November 13th, 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign waiver

How it Works: Participants will assist with litter removal onshore and on the Hillsborough River. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful (KTBB) will be providing a pontoon boat for groups of (6) at a time (every 30 minutes) to clean up on the river and learn about their environmental efforts impacting our community. We have space for 24 volunteers.

BYOK: Calling all experienced kayakers, canoers! For those who enjoy kayaking or canoeing along the river, you may bring your own boat to the Julian B. Lane boat launch to participate. There are no limits to the number of participants who BYOK. 

Volunteer Service Hours: (2) Service Hours

What to Bring: Sunscreen, Hat, Water, Sunglasses, Protective Footwear (closed toe).  Trash bags, grabbers, soft gloves, and items to assist with the cleaning will be provided.
